JERSEY OF THE MONTH..."Don't Feed the Birds"

Each designer in the Voler Art Department is opted to design a jersey of the month, anything they really feel inspired to do. I jumped in and decided to do somewhat of a landscape of Pismo Beach, one of my favorite places going as a kid. It's kind of a cartoonish perspective with the funky colored houses, and the characters you might find roaming around the central coast... so just wanted to share, and excited to see it get printed and really see what it looks like.

Voler: Family Picnic T-Shirt Designs

Started working for Voler Cycling Apparel about 3 months ago in the art department, and had an opportunity to create some t-shirt designs for our upcoming Company Family Picnic. The theme was OLD FASHION...mmm. The design with the tall bicycle rider (the last one) won, and will be printed. Never really designed much t-shirt or apparel, but enjoy the opportunities I get to learn in this industry of production in apparel print. Soon I will be designing a jersey of the month we will sell at our online retail store... so soon to come!

Vintage Store Online

So...I have it in my heart and on my head to start a vintage online store that is a collection from home decor, to patchwork clothing, to accessories... basically a place where I can release creativity and sell not just my designs but other's in this local area. Kind of like an etsy with a more affordable anthropologie style products , however, it would be more specific to just California and stored in my local garage for the meantime.

Check out the example products and give me feedback. The store hasn't started, and sample inventory is in process.

New French Salon coming to San Luis Obispo...

So I'm stoked because the best part of working for yourself is not only the freedom to create whenever you want and be wherever you want, but networking with whoever you want. I got a call this last week from a women that I was recommended to who is opening up a new salon downtown. She was in need of a logo and normally I don't do a lot of logo design because it's much more technical and sometimes more structured than I prefer, but in her knowing exactly what she wanted, and it was something within with my style, I agreed.

We are still in the works, because the first logo was too much design and we are now simplifying, but still wanted to showcase the look and feel we are going for and give a sneak preview. She opens in February and I will post pics and some fun projects we will be working on together!

Here was the first rough drafts...
